After Utagawa Hiroshige (Japanese 1797-1858) Goyu from a Fifty-three Stations of the Tokaido Series - A procession of porters carrying heavy transport palanquins and cargo bundles crosses a low wooden bridge over a small river channel bordered by a large weeping willow tree and a thatched roadside house. The sheet features a vertical red series cartouche alongside the station title block, an unbordered cursive poetic inscription integrated directly across the upper right sky field, and the standard artist block signature reading Hiroshige ga at the lower right margin line.
