Traditional Hungarian ”Karikas Ostor” Braided Leather Bullwhip - A traditional Hungarian ”Karikas Ostor” herding bullwhip, handcrafted with regional ethnographic leatherwork details. The assembly features a short, rigid turned wood handle wrapped in multi-plait braided rawhide or leather straps. The collar section or neck of the whip is heavily ornamented with stacked, perforated leather fringes, scalloped edging, and distinctive ”butterfly” flourishes, accented by inset circular green studs and a metal connecting swiveling ring. The long, flexible thong tapers into a tight multi-strand plait, terminating in a broad, scalloped teardrop-shaped leather slapper or cracker designed for the traditional Csikos horsemanship display.
