Ceramic Mantel Clock Retailed by J.W. Benson London - This ceramic architectural mantel clock features a rectangular case with a molded pediment and base, supported by four bracket feet. The front is decorated with a hand-painted polychrome floral spray featuring blue, pink, and yellow blossoms with green and brown foliage on a white ground. The surrounding case is finished in a claret-colored glaze, embellished with gilded linear borders and molded circular rosettes at the upper corners. The circular white porcelain dial features blue Arabic hour numerals and a minute track, fitted with two winding arbors and openwork hands. The dial is marked J.W. Benson, 25 Old Bond Street, London. The reverse of the clock features a circular hinged glass door providing access to the movement, which includes a bell strike. A circular silver-toned sticker for The Rubin Collection is present on the lower-left back of the case. The lot includes a brass-faced pendulum and two winding keys.
