Chinese Late Qing Brass Hulu Gourd Amulet - Late Qing to Republic period. Chinese bottle gourd (hulu) folk amulet in cast brass. The upper bulb on one side features a circular coin motif inscribed with the characters Zhao Cai Jin Bao, meaning bringing in wealth and treasure. The lower bulb displays the character Fu, for good fortune, within a continuous meander border. The reverse side features the Eight Trigrams (Bagua) surrounding a longevity symbol on the upper bulb, while the lower bulb depicts a central Yin-Yang symbol flanked by vertical characters including Bixie, intended for warding off evil spirits. The piece retains a dark, naturally aged patina with remnants of white pigment or filler in the recessed casting. Total weight 7.6g. Dimensions: 1”W x 1.75”H Weight: 7.6 g Condition: Good.
