Knutzen Studio Pottery Stoneware Bowl - This studio pottery stoneware bowl is attributed to the studio of David and Karen Knutzen. The wheel-thrown vessel features a low, wide circular form with a tapered lower body and a slightly everted rim. The exterior is decorated with a wide central band of deeply carved geometric chevron and triangular motifs in a matte cream-colored finish. The lower body and foot are finished in a glossy teal-turquoise glaze. The upper rim is embellished with a metallic bronze-tone luster glaze with gold-colored speckling. The interior is coated in a glossy teal-turquoise glaze with a central spiral pattern that transitions into a band of olive-brown glaze where it meets the rim. The underside of the base bears an incised stylized monogram resembling the letter M. Two paper labels are present on the base: a white label printed with Knutzen and KK-53, and a circular label from the Rubin Collection.
