Wedgwood Plaster Sprig Mold for Embossed Queensware Grapevine Design - A white plaster sprig mold produced by the Wedgwood factory, featuring an intaglio design of a grapevine with leaves and clusters of berries. This type of tool was used in the production process to create relief ornaments, or sprigs, that were applied to the surface of ceramic vessels, most notably seen in the Wedgwood Embossed Queensware line. The block is rectangular with chamfered corners. The top face is impressed with the number 2489 below the design cavity. One side of the mold bears the impressed maker mark WEDGWOOD and is further marked with a black ink date stamp of 11 NOV 1998. The reverse of the block shows flat tool marks and carries a circular silver-tone sticker for the RUBIN COLLECTION with handwritten characters in purple ink.
