Wedgwood Hand-Painted Lustre Octagonal Bowl - A large Wedgwood earthenware bowl of octagonal form with a circular foot. The exterior is decorated with a repeating hand-painted lustre pattern featuring leaves intertwined with scrolling vines in a reddish-purple hue over a cream ground. The interior rim is finished with a border of fine, radiating sunray lustre lines. The underside of the bowl bears a printed orange-red mark reading WEDGWOOD HAND PAINTED MADE IN ENGLAND. Additional hand-painted markings in orange-red include the pattern code CMH 5259 and the letter C. The base also retains a circular grey collection sticker for the RUBIN COLLECTION and a dealer inventory tag dated circa 1929.
