A 6 Piece Wedgwood Daisy Makeig-Jones Earthenware Nursery Ware Set - This 6 piece set of Wedgwood earthenware nursery ware was designed by Susannah Margaretta (Daisy) Makeig-Jones between circa 1915 and 1925. The collection is crafted from cream-colored earthenware and decorated with hand-painted polychrome enamel vignettes within circular reserves. The motifs featured across the set include a bison on a mug, a polar bear on a creamer and cup, a deer on a saucer, a whimsical fantasy figure in a bowl, and a small leopard or cheetah motif on the interior of the cup. Each piece is further accented with black transfer-printed scroll and geometric borders along the rims and handles. The undersides of the mug and creamer bear stamped marks including WEDGWOOD, ETRURIA ENGLAND, and DESIGNED BY S.M. MAKEIG-JONES. Additional markings include various hand-painted pattern or inventory numbers in red and green enamel.
