Royal Doulton Minton Bicentenary Porcelain Double-Handle Amphora Vase and Plinth - Twin-handled amphora vase and separate square plinth in English fine bone china, produced to commemorate the Minton Bicentenary 1793-1993. The form is a facsimile reproduction of the 1878 Paris Exhibition Vase, featuring neoclassical hand-painted scenes after original drawings by John Moyr Smith. Decorated with hand-gilded 22 karat gold accents, geometric borders, and a central classical frieze in a palette of turquoise, navy blue, and maroon. The square plinth features a black glazed body with gold borders and a circular porcelain commemorative insert. Gold printed factory marks to the underside of the vase and the plinth insert.
