Moorcroft 1937 Coronation Flambe Lidded Ginger Jar - English Moorcroft commemorative lidded earthenware jar produced for the 1937 coronation of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. The vessel features a flambe glaze in tones of deep red, charcoal, and gunmetal blue. Decoration includes tube-lined inscriptions reading King George, Queen Elizabeth, Coronation, and May 12 1937. The body is further adorned with tube-lined royal motifs including the Imperial State Crown, Sovereign's Orb, and floral emblems. The jar is of a tapering cylindrical form with a matching domed lid and black spherical finial. The underside bears an impressed Made in England mark, a stamped Potter to H.M.
