William Moorcroft Macintyre Pottery and Shreve & Co. Sterling Mounted 1907 Christmas Tyg, Claremont - The ceramic body is richly decorated with tube-lined mushrooms in a vibrant palette of deep blue, teal, sage green, red, and ochre. The vessel is mounted in finely crafted silver by Shreve & Co. of San Francisco, featuring three tapering handles, a pierced and scalloped foliate rim, a fitted base mount, and a central cartouche engraved with the letter ”D” above ”CHRISTMAS 1905.” The underside bears a green handwritten W. Moorcroft signature, while the lower silver rim is stamped Shreve & Co. Thermo Scientific analyzer indicates that the three handles, upper exterior rim, lower rim, and exterior floral overlay test as 99.99% silver, while the interior leaf-form rim tests as sterling silver (.925).
