Wedgwood Ceramic Trial Archer Centaur Medallion Stamp - This Wedgwood ceramic trial medallion stamp is a reference proof or master stamp produced from unglazed white biscuit ceramic. The rectangular block features a central circular intaglio motif of a centaur archer pulling a bow, facing right. The design is framed by an inner rope-twist border and an outer radiating leaf pattern. The face is impressed with the text TRIAL and 26 MM, referring to the intended diameter of the medallion. The side of the block bears the impressed maker mark WEDGWOOD above the letters CG. A handwritten information is applied in dark ink to both sides.
