Wedgwood Queen's Ware Armorial Plate, Mrs. Allardyce, No 214 - A Wedgwood cream-colored earthenware (creamware or Queen's Ware) dinner plate, dating to the late 18th or early 19th century. The circular plate features a shallow well and a slightly raised rim. The center is decorated with a hand-painted armorial crest depicting a demi-savage wreathed about the head and loins with laurel and holding a club, positioned above a script monogram and enclosed within a green tied laurel wreath. The rim is finished with a hand-painted guilloche or entwined chain-link border executed in green and ochre enamels. The reverse of the plate bears the impressed factory mark WEDGWOOD. Hand-painted script in iron-red on the underside reads Mrs. Allardyce and No 214. The piece retains several significant provenance and exhibition labels on the reverse, including a circular POLIKOFF COLLECTION label, a circular RUBIN COLLECTION label, and a rectangular typed label for the 1977 WEDGWOOD SEMINAR at the Henry Ford Museum.
