A Pair of Wedgwood Creamware Shell-Edge Oval Trays Painted by James Bakewell - A pair of Wedgwood creamware shell-edge oval trays featuring hand-painted crimson flower foliate designs attributed to James Bakewell. The pieces are characterized by scalloped, lobed rims with a feathered edge highlighted in a matching crimson palette. The larger tray displays a central sunflower-like bloom, while the smaller tray features lily-like flowers and floral sprigs. The reverse of each piece displays an impressed WEDGWOOD mark and a hand-painted script B in crimson. The larger tray bears the JB initials. Visible on the undersides are collection labels for the Gerry Backman Collection and a handwritten sticker on the larger platter that reads James Bakowe (sign) 1799.
