Wedgwood Antique Creamware Lidded Tureen with Hand-Painted Botanical and Figurative Decoration - This antique Wedgwood creamware soup tureen and matching lid features hand-painted enamel decoration. The large oval vessel is supported by a pedestal foot and flanked by two scroll handles. The domed lid is surmounted by a molded foliated finial designed to resemble a hazelnut or stylized flower bud. The primary decorative motif consists of a repeating vine border with green leaves and hazelnuts, punctuated by reserve cartouches depicting a seated bearded figure in Middle Eastern style dress, including a turban and striped robe. The decoration is further defined by hand-painted brown line borders along the rims and foot. The base of the tureen features an impressed Wedgwood factory mark. A small circular collection sticker is also present on the underside, labeled for the Rubin Collection.
