Marc Chagall (Attr.) Color Lithograph on Arches Paper Signed
Marc Chagall's The Meal at Dryas' House from Longus' Daphnis and Chloe is an original color lithograph (with center fold) from the book edition of 250 published in 1962. Chagall completed 42 gouache and watercolor drawings for transfer onto lithographs to illustrate the Ancient-Greek writer Longus' novel that narrates the mythological figures' romantic adventures. Signature in lower center: Marc Chagall (authenticated by expert Herman Darick.) Housed in an imposing gilt and burgundy wood frame and a white mat with purple and red borders. Sight size: 18.50"L x 12.50"H. Frame size: 37.25"L x 31"H x 2.50"W. Certificate of Authenticity included.
