This jug was issued as the Character Jug of the Year for 1996, to commemorate both the Summer Olympic Games in Atlanta, Georgia, and the first African-American to win a gold medal in the Olympic Games. Owens won four gold medals in Berlin during the 1936 Summer Games.Series: Character Jug of the Year. Royal Doulton backstamp.
