Regarding the Shechita and Kashrus of meat schected in Brazil under his supervision. He writes that he has invested great efforts in raising the Kashrus standards with excellent Shoctim and Bodkim. All those who are lenient regarding “Bassar Kafoi” may eat from this Shechita. The issue of “Basar Kafoi” was a great rabbinical debate whether meat may be exported frozen, although it will not be Koshered within three days! He concludes by inviting R. Unterman to visit South America and oversee the Shechita!   R. Baruch Yerachmiel Yehoshua Rabinowitz (1915–1998) was a scion of a great rabbinical family, a direct descendant of the Yid HaKadosh of Peshischa. Renowned as an Ilui, he married the only daughter of The Minchas Elozor of Munkacs. In 1937, he succeeded The Minchas Elozor as Rav, Rosh Yeshiva and Rebbe. During the Holocaust, despite his personal suffering, he invested great energies into rescue work and later escaped to Eretz Yisroel. Following the Holocaust and the passing of his wife he moved to Brazil. He later returned to Eretz Yisroel, settling in Petach Tikvah.
