R. AMRAM BLAU. YERUSHOLAYIM 1964. - R. AMRAM BLAU. YERUSHOLAYIM 1964. Autograph letter to the renowned philanthropist R. Yaakov Halpern of Bnei Brak. Written as a letter of recommendation for Yeshivas Bais Yisrael. It seems that R. Yaakov Halpern conditioned his support for this Yeshiva on the approval of R. Amram Blau. He writes at length testifying to the integrity of the Yeshiva and its leaders, as well as the importance of supporting Yeshivas with Torah true values.  R. Amram Blau (1894-1974), was the founder and leader of the Neturei Karta. He was known for his separatist approach and his opposition to Zionism and the State of Israel. He refused to acknowledge the State of Israel, refused to accept governmental grants and more. He was also known for his regular protests against Chilul Shabbos, the opening of mixed swimming pools and autopsies, during which he was often beaten or arrested. He was respected for his genuine zealotry and none less than the Chazon Ish visited him in jail, after he was arrested for protesting against Chilul Shabbos.  With mention of R. Dov Sokolovsky.
