R. MOSHE STERN/DEBRECEN. EMDEN SIDDUR. 1966. - R. MOSHE STERN/DEBRECEN. EMDEN SIDDUR. 1966.  Facsimile of the original Siddur Amudei Shamayim/Sha’ar Shamayim known as The Emden Siddur. This siddur was originally published by R. Yaakov Emden in Altona in 1745/1747. R. Yaakov Emden invested enormous efforts and resources to publish a siddur with an accurate Nussach. He also included a commentary, Kabbalistic Novella and relevant Halachos. The Siddur was received with enormous acclaim and became tremendously popular. Later, however, a siddur under the title “Bais Yaakov” was published and became known as “The Emden Siddur”. Although it was based on R. Yaakov’s Emden’s original Siddur, The Bais Yaakov Siddur differs greatly from the original Amudei Shamayim/Sha’ar Shamayim Siddur. Most notably, the publisher changed the Nussach from Nussach Ashkenaz to Nussach Sfard. He also added various commentaries, Halachos and Minhagim. As such, later commentators erroneously attribute and misquote material in The Bais Yaakov Siddur to R. Yaakov Emden. To rectify this, in 1966, R. Moshe Bick of Mezhibuzh/New York (a descendant of R. Yaakov Emden) reprinted a facsimile of the first two parts of the original Siddur Amudei Shamayim/Sha’ar Shamayim.  With an autograph inscription by R. Avraham Yehoushua Heschel Bick (current Mezhibuzh Rav) gifting the Siddur to R. Moshe Stern (1915-1997) renowned Debrecen’er Rav of New York (Be’er Moshe).   Two Vols.
