R. Yitzchok Zev HaLevi Soloveitchik/Brisker Rav. Yerusholayim 1958. - Check written to R. Yitzchok Zev HaLevi Soloveitchik, with his signed endorsement on the back. Dated May 20, 1958. The donation of $18 was sent by a Talmid Chochom in the U.S. whose mother was unwell, with the request that the Brisker Rav daven for her recovery. R. Yitzchok Zev Ha’Levi Soloveitchik (1886-1959), was a son of R. Chaim Ha’Levi Soloveitchik. Primarily a talmid of his father, he was renowned from a young age for his brilliant mind coupled with outstanding diligence and great piety. He succeeded his father as Rav of Brisk, where in addition to his rabbinical duties he taught a small group of exceptional students. Following his miraculous escape from Europe during the Holocaust, he lived in Yerusholayim where he taught Torah to his sons and a small group of outstanding students. Recognized as the one of the preeminent Torah leaders of his era, he was held in awe by his rabbinical contemporaries as well as by the masses. Fine condition.
