R. Boruch Ber Leibowitz. Rare letter to R. Dov Kook and R. Tzvi Yehuda Kook. Kaminetz c. 1937. - Autograph letter by R. Boruch Ber Leibowitz to R. Dov HaKohen Kook (brother of R. Avrohom Yitzchok Kook), director of the Harry Fischel institute in Yerusholayim. The letter begins with a note written by the Gabbai of the Yeshiva library, expressing their gratitude for the sefer R. Dov had sent, (Rishonim on Maseches Moed Katan published by the Harry Fischel institute in 1937), followed by 8 lines handwritten and signed by R. Boruch Ber, thanking for the Sefer and blessing R. Dov Kook and his nephew, “the eminent Torah scholar, R. Tzvi Yehuda” with abundant success for many years to come, and with all your hearts’ wishes for the good…”. R. Baruch Ber Leibowitz (1864-1940), was one of the most prominent students of R. Chaim Brisker and was a leading Rosh yeshiva in Lithuania in the era immediately preceding the Holocaust. His yeshiva in Kaminetz became a great center of Torah with students coming from all over the world to hear his Shiurim. His classic work Birchas Shmuel is a fundamental work learned in many Yeshivos worldwide. 28 by 21.5 cm. Some holes. Fine condition. Opening bid $1500
