R. Tzvi Hirsch Ferber. London 1953. Historical Polemical Letter Against the Establishment of the “New” Sanhedrin. - Extremely strongly worded autograph letter by R. Tzvi Hirsch Ferber to R. Aaron Milevsky. R. Ferber addresses various religious issues that he found problematic in the nascent State of Israel, and in particular the initiative to reestablish the Sanhedrin. Written in an unusably acerbic style against the rabbinical leadership of the concept. R. Tzvi Hirsch Ferber (1879-1966), was born in Kovno and learned in the Slabodka Yeshiva, as well as under R. Yitzchok Elchanan Spektor, R. Itzele Blazer and R. Naftali Amsterdam. In 1911, he immigrated to Manchester where he founded a Yeshiva along with R. Yehoshua Silverstone. In 1913, R. Tzvi Hirsch accepted the call to become the Rav of the West End Talmud Torah. Renowned as a great Talmudic scholar, gifted orator and a prolific author of over 22 seforim. 20.5 by 12.5 cm.
