G'DI Mekulas. Commentary to Chad Gadya. With the Author’s Corrections and Glosses! First Edition. Altona 1770 - Commentary to “Chad Gadya” by R. Moshe Avrielli. The author attempts to explain the meaning of the cryptic Chad Gadya that it is referring to the Christian and Muslim attempts to coerce the Jews away from their faith. With the author’s marginal revisions in a number of places including on page [6b] where he writes that “here a valuable diamond was lost” due to censorship. The Piyut “Chad Gadya” first appeared in a Haggadah printed in Prague in 1590, and is the most recent inclusion in the traditional Passover Seder liturgy, although its author is unknown.
