Ohel Torah Journal. Volumes 1-2. With Divrei Sofrim. R. Elchonon Wasserman. First Editions. Baranovitch 1923-1924. Rare! - Two rare journals published by R. Elchonon Wasserman and R. Yechiel Michel Rabinowitz (Afikei Yam) in Baranovitch. Volume one includes the Divrei Sofrim by R. Elchanan Wasserman (Pietrikow 1924). With essays by the Chofetz Chaim, R. Shimon Shkop, R. Naftali Tropp, R. Avrohom Yoffen, R. Naftali Amsterdam, R. Isser Zalman Meltzer, R. Aaron Kotler, R. Baruch Ber Leibowitz and R. Shlomo Heiman among others. R. Elchonon Bunim Wasserman (1874-1941), studied at the Telshe Yeshiva under R. Lazer Gordon and R. Shimon Shkop, and later became a close disciple of R. Chaim Soloveitchik and the Chofetz Chaim. As Rosh Yeshiva in Baranovitch he was renowned for his clear and penetrating shiurim which attracted many students. His seforim, Kovetz Shiurim, Kovetz He’oros and Kovetz Ma’amorim are widely studied in Yeshivos. Additionally, he was extensively involved in communal matters and was very active in the Agudas Yisroel movement. Volume one has the stamps and signature (in pencil) of R.
