Kovetz Shiurim. First Edition. Baranovitch 1937. With the Rare Hesped on the Chofetz Chaim! - Collection of around 150 shiurim of R. Elchonon Wasserman on Masechtos Pesachim, Beitzah, Bava Basra, Kesubos, and Kidushin, as well as numerous Shmuesen by R. Elchanan, a Shmues by R. Tzvi Danziger of Kaloshin and a Shmues by R. Yitzchok Elchonon Waldshein (distinguished Novardok Talmid, brother-in-law of R. Chaim Shmuelevitz and Mashgiach in Baranovitch). This is one of the most popular seforim learned throughout the “Yeshiva World”. R. Elchonon Bunim Wasserman (1874-1941), learned at the Telshe Yeshiva under R. Lazer Gordon and R. Shimon Shkop, and later became a close talmid of R. Chaim Soloveitchik and the Chofetz Chaim. As Rosh Yeshiva in Baranovitch he was renowned for his clear and penetrating shiurim which attracted many students. His seforim, Kovetz Shiurim, Kovetz He’oros and Kovetz Ma’amorim are widely studied in Yeshivos. Additionally, he was extensively involved in communal matters and was very active in the Agudas Yisroel movement. Originally, each of these shiurim were printed on 2 pages (4 sides) and were distributed in the Yeshiva. Once complete, the Yeshiva published the shiurim, as well as some shmuesen, in one volume titled Kovetz Shiurim with the proceeds benefitting the Yeshiva. There are variations amongst known copies. This copy includes the eulogy on the Chofetz Chaim not found in most copies, as well as “Ikvesa D’Meshicha” and other Shmuesen. 318, 4, 4, 8, 8, 4, 4, 16 pages. 23 cm. Lacking the title page as well as the first 12 pages. Page 3 shaved very slightly lacking affecting text. Overall good condition. Dry paper. Antique binding (loose). Bound with Divrei Shlomo (Vilna 1936), by R. Shlomo Salvin. R. Shlomo Salvin, was a talmid of R. Zalman Sender Kahana Shapiro and R. Baruch Ber Leibowitz. He was extremely close to R. Boruch Ber and was one of his most distinguished talmidim. He served as R”M in Yeshivas Bais Yisroel Stolin. He was murdered by the Nazis in 1943. 36 pages. Excellent condition (lacking title page).
