Eliyahu Dovid Rabinowitz Thumim (The ADERES). Written to R. Naftali Hertz HaLevi, Rav of Yaffo. The ADERES urges R. Naftali Hertz to ensure that all produce sold should be clearly marked, as to whether or not Terumos & Ma’asros have been separated. Apparently, produce was being sold without clear markings which was causing severe halachic complications.  R. Eliyahu Dovid Rabinowitz Thumim (1845-1905) was a known as a child prodigy. He was appointed at a very young age as Rav of Ponevezh and later served as the Rav of Mir. In 1902 he was called by R. Shmuel Salant, the aged Rav of Yerusholayim to succeed him as Rav. Tragically however, shortly after accepting the position he passed away at the age of sixty. He was eulogized by the aged R. Shmuel Salant who was then in his nineties. Father-in-law of R.
