Signed letter by three renowned rabbonim of Detroit: R. Eliezer Levin, R. Leib Bakst and R. Yechezkel Grubner. Written to Agudas HaRabbanim in NY, the signatories strongly protest the fact that Agudas HaRabbanim called to Din Torah two parties both of whom live in Detroit. The Rabbanim in Detroit perceived this as a violation of Halachic conduct and as a gross insult to the authority of The Detroit Va’ad HaRabbanim. As such they are withdrawing their memberships in Agudas HaRabbanim. R. Eliezer Levin (1895-1992) was a Talmid of The Chafetz Chaim and Yeshivas Kelm. A tremendous Talmid Chochom and Ba’al Mussar he served for decades as head of The Va’ad HaRabbanim in Detroit.  R. Leib Bakst (1915-2003) was a Talmid of Yeshivas Mir where he was particularly close to R. Yeruchum Levovitz. After spending the war years in Shanghai, he immigrated to America where he served as Rosh Yeshiva in Detroit for over fifty years. He taught generations of Talmidim and had a profound influence of American Torah Jewry.  R. Yechezkel Grubner (1918-2009) was an outstanding Talmid Chochom who learned in the great Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin and The Radomsker Yeshiva in Poland. Following the Holocaust, he served as a Rav in Detroit for over 50 years.  Two pages. 21.5 by 28 cm. Excellent condition. Opening bid $500
