R. Avrohom Yoffen. Novardok - Autograph letter by R. Avrohom Yoffen to R. Yosef Gurwitz of Melbourne, Australia, describing the activities of the Novardok Yeshivos and requesting financial assistance. R. Avrohom Yoffen (1886-1970), learned in the Yeshivos of Slutzk and Kobrin as well as under R. Zalman Sender Kahana-Shapiro. He later went on to learn under the Alter of Novardok and eventually married his youngest daughter. Upon the passing of the Alter in 1919, he headed the network of Novardok Yeshivos. In 1941, he escaped Europe via Japan, and reestablished Yeshivas Bais Yosef in New York. In 1962 he immigrated to Eretz Yisroel, where he led the surviving Novardok talmidim until his passing. 21 by 28 cm. Excellent condition. Opening bid $200
