R. Yoel Teitelbaum of Satmar. Historic letter from Rabbi Dr. Abraham J. Twerski to the Satmar Rov. Milwaukee 1955. Zman Rabbeinu Tam. - Autograph letter regarding the precise definition of Halachic dusk and nightfall (72 minutes of Rabbeinu Tam), sent by Rabbi Dr. Abraham J. Twerski to the Satmar Rov. He writes, that he is presently studying in college, and is discussing with the faculty the exact time of nightfall. He suggests that the accepted practice of 72 minutes after sunset, is likely not applicable in the United States, and is likely only pertinent in Countries in the East. As is well known the subject of the precise timing of Halachic nightfall is the subject of much debate. The Satmar Rov was of the firm opinion that the time of “Rabbeinu Tam” as he practiced in Europe, is also applicable in the Unites States. Rabbi Dr. Abraham J.
