R. Yosef Paneth. Deyzh - Letter (seemingly autograph) written to R. Yaakov Tzvi Halberstam of Suche (son of R. Shayla Tchechoiver). With a recommendation on behalf of a descendant of a great rabbinical family who was in a difficult financial situation. Concludes by requesting that he should be mazkir him “Yosef ben Rivka” to his father, R. Shayla Tchechoiver. R. Yosef Paneth (1895-1962), was a son of R. Yechezkel of Deyzh. He served as Rov in Takendorf and later in Ilanda where he established an important Yeshiva. He survived the Holocaust with most of his family and following the war eventually immigrated to America settling in New York, where he was known as the Deyzher Rebbe. He had many distinguished descendants, who serve as Rebbes and Rabbonim. Father in law of R. Naftoli Tzvi of Bobov. 15 by 22 cm. Excellent condition. Opening bid $200
