R. Yitzchok Hutner. Extremely rare early letter of Torah Novella on Nozir. Warsaw 1932! Historic discovery! 3 sides. - Lengthy rare autograph letter by R. Yitzchok Hutner to R. Tzvi Pesach Frank. In 1932, R. Yitzchok Hutner published his famous sefer on Nozir “Toras HaNozir”. The sefer was warmly received by the Gedolim of that period and received numerous distinguished approbations R. Tzvi Pesach Frank who was one the distinguished Talmidei Chachomim of the time, penned a letter to R. Hutner regarding a chiddush he saw in the sefer. This is of particular interest as R. Tzvi Pesach was the head of the Eidah Ha’Chareidis while R. Hutner was at the time a bochur of 26(!) (See Har Tzvi Yoreh De’ah 190). In response, R. Hutner penned this letter, first by explaining the delayed response, as the letter was sent Slabodka, whilst he was in Warsaw with his parents, and it took time to have the letter forwarded to him. Indeed, this letter is written on the letterhead of R. Hunter’s father R. Chaim Yoel Hutner. Rabbi Yitzchak Hutner (1906-1980), was a great original thinker and one of the most prominent American Roshei Yeshiva of the 20th century. Born in Warsaw, he studied first in Slabodka and later in Chevron. He immigrated to America in 1935 and eventually became the Rosh Yeshiva of Yeshivas Rabbeinu Chaim Berlin. In this capacity he educated generations of students and wielded a great influence on Orthodox Jewry worldwide. Letters of Torah content in general, of this length in particular and written in R.
