Historical rabbinical proclamation against “Mercaz Ruchni Ha’Olami” 1968. - R. Y.Y Kanievsky, R. E.M Shach, R. Chaim Meir Hager of Vizhnitz (Imrei Chaim), R. D. Povarsky, R. Refoel Boruch Toledano, R. Avrohom Yoffen, R. Moshe Chevroni and R. Yechiel Yehoshua of Biala (Chelkas Yehoshua). Following the establishment of the State of Israel in 1948, efforts were made to found a central religious and synagogue body to unite all religious institutions in Eretz Yisroel and the Diaspora. A plan was drawn up with the headquarters to be constructed in central Yerusholayim in Heichal Shlomo. This plan was vehemently opposed by many Gedolim, particularly the Brisker Rov. This proclamation from 1968 reiterates the previous ban associated with the concept of a central religious institute. With original signatures of R. Y.Y. Kanievsky (Steipler Gaon), R. E.M. Shach (Rosh Yeshivas Ponevezh), R. Chaim Meir Hager of Vizhnitz (Imrei Chaim), R. D. Povarsky (Rosh Yeshivas Ponevezh), R. Refoel Boruch Toledano, R. Avrohom Yoffen (Rosh Yeshivas Novardok), R. Moshe Chevroni (Rosh Yeshivas Chevron) and R. Yechiel Yehoshua of Biala (Chelkas Yehoshua). The signature of the Biala Rebbe is of particular importance as he rarely signed public proclamations of this type. 21 by 32.5 cm. Excellent condition. Opening bid $1500
