Biurei HaZohar. Lemberg 1861. Handwritten Ma'ma'ar - Manuscript of Chasidic discourse “Ma’amar”. Commentary on the Zohar by R. Dov Ber Schneerson, the “Mittler Rebbe” of Chabad. Following the passing of the Ba’al Hatanya in 1813, a split occurred with some Chassidim accepting his son R. Dov Ber as Rebbe “Mittler Rebbe” and others accepting R. Aaron Halevy Horowitz of Strelishe (1766-1828) “the Strelishe”. The two great leaders differed primarily in their understanding of the Ba’al Hatanya’s doctrine as to the preferred way of Divine service. This sefer with a lengthy title page describing how the “Alter Rebbe” designated his son the “Mittler Rebbe” to transcribe his teachings on the Zohar was published by the Mittler Rebbe’s Chassidim. With a manuscript bound into the sefer written in an unidentified handwriting seemingly of a Ma’amar. Flecker press. [2], 84, 34, 21 pages. 25 cm. Overall fine condition. Wear around the edges. Two pages with printer’s error slightly affecting text. Antique binding. Opening bid $150
