In 1905, Shloime Friedlander began working on what he claimed to be a manuscript of the Talmud Yerushalmi on Kodshim that his brother happened upon in Turkey. It was initially well received by many Gedolim including R. Shalom Mordechai Schwardron (MaHarShaM), R. Yehuda Grunewald and R. Eliezer Deutsch who wrote approbations for the work.
