YESOD HA’EMUNAH. (CHASSID YA’AVETZ) LUBLIN 1596. PART TWO ONLY. RARE! - Fundamental sefer expounding on the principles on Judaism hence the name Yesod HaEmunah. Authored by R. Yosef Ya’avetz (Chassid Ya’avetz). R. Yosef Ya’avetz known as The Chassid Ya’avetz (died 1507) was one of the leading rabbinical figures in Spain during the era of the Spanish expulsion. After the expulsion he settled in Italy. In his seforim he fiercely attacks the study of philosophy, claiming that at times of religious persecution the more philosophical Jews were more easily swayed, whereas the simple uneducated Jews withstood the test and were martyred. Originally printed together with sefer Ohr HaChaim and Maamar HaAchdus, this volume contains just the Yesod HaEmunah with its own title page. Yaffe Press. 15 pages. 17.5 pages. Excellent condition.
