CLASSICS. TORAS HA’OLAH. FIRST EDITION PRAGUE 1570. WITH RARE DIAGRAM! NEAR COMPLETE COPY. - Fundamental sefer regarding The Bais HaMikdash and it’s Holy Vessels as well as Korbanos authored by R. Moshe Isserles (The Rema) and published during his lifetime. The sefer is based on both kabbalistic and philosophical concepts quoting extensively the More Nevuchim of The Rambam. Divided into 3 parts; Part one is titled “Har” (mountain) discusses the structure of The Bais HaMikdash and it’s vessels. Part two titled “Sadeh” (field) discusses the laws of Kohanim. Part three titled “Bayis” discusses the Korbanos. R. Moshe Isserles known universally as The Rema (circa 1535-1573) was a talmid of R. Sholom Shachna of Lublin later becoming his son in law. He served as Rav in Cracow where in addition to his rabbinical duties he also led a Yeshiva. His talmidim include The Sm”a, The Levush, The Masa’s Binyamin and R. Avraham Horowitz – father of the SHLa”H. A prolific author, he authored the Darkei Moshe on The Tur, Rema on The Shulchan Aruch among other seforim. For generations the Rema has been accepted as the primary halachic authority for Ashkenazic Jewry. Stefansky 500. Katz press. Should be 6, 173 pages. 28 cm. This copy is lacking pages 21, 96 & 97. At the end of the sefer this copy has a diagram of The Bais HaMikdash. To the best of our knowledge this diagram is not recorded in any other copies. However, it has not been established conclusively, that this diagram was printed for this particular sefer and was not originally printed for another sefer and erroneously bound in this copy. Overall fine condition, some worming, staining and wear with crude repairs affecting text. Title page restored. A few pages possibly supplied from another copy. Modern leather binding.
