EXTENSIVE UNIDENTIFIED GLOSSES! - In 1391 a wave of massacres and pogroms were initiated by the Catholic populace against the Jews of Spain who refused to convert. This culminated in the 1492 expulsion of the Jews from Spain. During these difficult times R. Yosef Albo (circa 1380-1444) a disciple of R. Chasdai Crescas who in turn was a disciple of the RaN authored his classic sefer Ha’Ikrim. The sefer codifies the fundamentals of Jewish tradition and was written to strengthen the persecuted Jews during those turbulent times. For hundreds of years, it has remained one of the most popular works discussing the principles of Judaism. Extensive unidentified early glosses in various handwritings. Final three pages lacking and supplemented by a professional scribe (dated 1745). Wooden binding (detached and lacking spine).
