R. Yisroel Spira of Bluzhev. New York. - Approbation signed by R. Yisroel Spira of Bluzhev, encouraging the printing of the manuscript of R. Naftali of Litvisk, son of the famed R. Shimon Yaroslover. The sefer was published shortly thereafter with the title Ayola Shlucha. See lot… The letter concludes with warm brochos. R. Yisroel Spira (1889-1989), was born in Reisha Galicia, to R. Yehoshua Spira (Keren Yehoshua), a son of R. Tzvi Elimelech of Bluzhev, (Tzvi L’Tzaddik), a grandson of the Bnei Yissoschar. Known as a child prodigy, at the young age of 13, he received Semicha from the MaHarShaM and later served as Rov in various communities in Galicia. In 1931 he succeeded his father as Bluzhever Rebbe. After miraculously surviving the horrors of the Holocaust, he immigrated to America settling in New York where he reestablished his court and was instrumental in the establishment of the post Holocaust community. 21.5 by 28 cm.
