R. Yeshaya Fuerst. Vienna 1935. - Autograph letter by R. Yeshaya Fuerst of Vienna written to his brother in law, concerning members of the family and concluding with unusually warm blessings. R. Yeshaya Fuerst (1857-1943), was one of the distinguished students of the K’sav Sofer and later the Shevet Sofer. He was the son-in-law of R. Sholom Kutna the Av Beis Din of Eisenstadt. From 1881-1895, he served as Rav in Tirnau and then in Preshow until 1897, when he became Rav of the Adas Yisroel (Schiff Shul) in Vienna. Following the Nazi invasion of Austria in 1938, he escaped to London where he was among the founders of the Torah Eitz Chaim (69) Kehilla. Author of the sefer Chazon Yeshaya. 14.5 by 23 cm.
