Gabboim of Rimanov, Dzikov, Sambor and Sasov. Lot of 9 letters. - For generations it was customary that Chassidim who lived far from their respective Rebbe’s would send a Kvittel along with a Pidyon to the Gabbai who would then pass the Kvittel and Pidyon to the Rebbe on the Chossid’s behalf. The Gabbai would then send a letter to the Chossid conveying the Rebbe’s brochos. This unique lot, consists of “Rebbishe” responses sent to R. Yitzchok Isaac Goldstein of London in the early 1900’s. Lot includes: R. Yosef HaKohen Friedman of Rimanov- Autograph postcard sent by the gabbai of R. Yosef HaKohen of Rimanov (d. 1913), son of R. Tzvi Hirsch of Rimanov, who grew up in the home of his stepfather R. Yisroel of Ruzhin. R. Yehoshua Horowitz of Dzikov- 2 autograph postcards sent by the gabbai of R. Yehoshua Horowitz of Dzikov (d. 1913), Ateres Yehoshua. R. Uri Yolles of Sambor- Autograph postcard sent by the gabbai of R. Uri Yolles of Sambor (1834-1910), a talmid of the Sar Shalom of Belz and R. Avrohom of Stretin. He served as Rav in Komarna and Rebbe in Sambor. R. Shlomo Meyer of Sassov- 4 autograph postcards and 1 autograph letter on the Rebbe’s stationary, by two Gabboim (R. Leib Weinreb and R. Avrohom Hennes) of R. Shlomo Meyer of Sassov (1835-1919), a grandson of the Sar Shalom of Belz. He was a talmid of R. Eliezer of Dzikov, R. Yitzchok Meir of Zinkov and R. Avrohom of Stretin. With an additional unidentified postcard. Unique collection of postcards sent by the Gabboim of some of the greatest Chassidic Rebbes. 14 by 9 cm. Very fine condition. Opening bid $1000
