R. Simcha HaLevy Bamberger. Fishach 1860. Kashrus memorandum. - Autograph kashrus memorandum in Yiddish-Deutsch by R. Simcha HaLevy Bamberger. With detailed instructions concerning baking bread and cakes in an oven that may be “fleishig” from previous use and under what circumstances the oven must be “koshered”. R. Simcha Halevy Bamberger (1832-1897), was the son of the renowned R. Yitzchok Dov Bamberger (Wurzburger Rov). He was a talmid of his father, and of the rabbinical seminary of Colmar. He served as Rov in Fishach and in 1882, he succeeded R. Avrohom Adler as Rov of Aschaffenburg. The Bamberger family was one of the most distinguished families in Germany, with many of its members serving in the Rabbinate. Great-grandfather of R. Yehoshua Neuwirth (Shemiras Shabbos K’Hilchaso). He authored various seforim including P’kudas Ha’L’viim, Avodas Ha’L’viim, Sha’arei Simcha, Zecher Yitzchok and Chinuch L’Ne’arim. 21.5 by 27.5 cm. Excellent condition. Opening bid $200
