R. Yitzchok Weiss Verbau/R. Moshe Weiss Pressburg. Shavuos Machzhor. Vienna 1838. - Shavuos Machzor with stamps of R. Yitzchok Weiss, and inscription of R. Moshe Weiss. R. Yitzchok Weiss (1873-1942), was a son of R. Yeshaya Yissochar (Ber) Weiss, (one of the distinguished Talmidei Chachomim and community leaders in Pressburg). He was a talmid of the Shevet Sofer and was famous from a young age as a great Talmid Chochom. He served as a Magid shiur in Pressburg and later as Rov in Kadelburg. In 1916, he was appointed as Rosh Beis Din in Verbau where he served until the Holocaust. He authored several seforim including Avnei Bais Ha’Yoitzer, Siach Yitzchok, Binah L’Ittim and Elef Ksav. Brothers of R. Sheftel Weiss, the renowned Shimina Rov. R. Moshe Weiss of Pressburg (1861-1936), was a distinguished disciple of the Shevet Sofer. Known as a great Talmid Chochom, he founded a Chevra in Pressburg to which he taught Torah. As is well known, in many Kehillos in Oberland particularly amongst the Talmidei Chachomim, the Tefilos on Shavuos were recited with great intensity.
