R. Avrohom Yehuda Schwartz/Kol Aryeh. Gift to his Brother in law R. Shmuel Gintzler. Sefer Chassidim. Lemberg 1870. - Sefer Ha’Chasidim with the commentary of the CHIDA. On the flyleaf it states that “this sefer I received as a gift from my dear brother-in-law R. Avrohom HaKohen A’BaD Bergszas. … Shmuel Gintzler”. R. Avrohom Yehuda Ha’Cohen Schwartz (1824-1883), was born in Ma’ad, Hungary and at the age of 14 went to study under the Chasam Sofer in Pressburg. He was one of the most outstanding talmidim in Pressburg and was particularly close to the Chasam Sofer. In 1861, he was appointed Rav and Rosh Yeshiva in Bergszas. In 1881, he was appointed Rav in Ma’ad where he served until his passing. After his passing his grandson, R. Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich, published his work of responsa Kol Aryeh, after which he is known. He was world renowned as a tremendous Talmid Chochom and Posek and was one of the most influential Rabbonim of his era. R. Shmuel Gintzler (1835-1911), was known as a tremendous Talmid Chochom. He served as Rav in Ober-Vishiva for 45 years and was the author of Meishiv Nefesh. Lacking the title page as well as the first few pages. 86 pages. 25 cm. Fine condition.
