Dov Ber Schneerson (1773-1827), “the Mittler Rebbe” of Lubavitch, who inherited the mantle of Chassidic leadership from his father, R. Shneur Zalman of Liadi, “the Alter Rebbe”. He was the first Rebbe to live in town of Lubavitch and had an immense influence on his Chasidim in particular and on communal Jewish life in Russia in general. He was also a prolific author and his seforim are fundamentals of Chasidic thought. The Imrei Binah, displays the “Mittler Rebbe’s” exceptional mastery of the esoteric doctrine of Chabad mysticism.
