Yalkut Chodosh. Author’s manuscript. Seemingly unprinted. Circa 1640-1740 - Comprehensive manuscript entitled Yalkut Chodosh on a wide variety of subjects set up alphabetically. With two hundred and ten manuscript pages. The second part of the manuscript includes some Talmudic novella and a number of sermons from the year 1798, possibly in a different handwriting. Although the author’s identity is not clear, he was possibly a descendant of R. Yisroel of Belzec who authored a Kabbalistic work also entitled Yalkut Chodosh, which was first printed in Lublin in 1648. On various pages the author quotes various thoughts in the name of his son. With certification of R. Yosef Avivi, who writes that this manuscript is extremely rare and no other manuscripts by this author are known. 210 pages. 20 cm. Overall excellent condition. Some pages professionally restored with minor loss of text. Fine modern binding, leather spine with matching slipcase. Opening bid $3000
