Chaim Yosef Dovid Azulai (1724-1806), was one of the greatest Torah scholars and authors of his generation. He studied under the Ohr HaChaim and the RaShaSH and was a close contemporary of R. Yom Tov (MaHaRIT) Algazi. He was a prolific author writing more than 80 works on many aspects of Torah. His seforim were received with great acclaim and are classics of Torah scholarship.
