On the front cover is pasted a printed note, with a signed dedication by the author gifting these two seforim. Mishan Ha’Mayim is novella on the weekly Torah portions and Nachlas Avos is a Mussar sefer, the author wrote upon reaching the age of seventy. Warmly received, the sefer Nachlas Avos is quoted numerous times by the Divrei Chaim. The sefer Mishan Ha’Mayim was particularly favored by The Chakal Yitzchok of Spinka who quotes it and also encouraged its reprinting. R. Meshulam Zalman HaCohen (1739-1820), was a close talmid of R. Yonasan Eibeschitz. A prodigious Talmid Chochom, he served as Rav and Rosh Yeshiva in the distinguished community of Furth. He was one of the most well-known Rabbinical leaders of his time and was held in enormous esteem by his Rabbinical contemporaries. He corresponded with The Haflo’ah who refers to him as “The Sar HaTorah” and also received Halachic questions from R. Akiva Eiger.
