Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich, The Shimlauer Rav. R. Shlomo Zalman Ehrenreich (1863-1944), was born in Beregsaz and was a talmid of his legendary grandfather, R. Avraham Yehuda Schwartz (Kol Aryeh). He was one of the most prominent Rabbonim in Hungary famous as a tremendous Talmid Chochom and great Tzaddik. He served as Rav in Shimlau and in addition to his Rabbinical duties was a prolific author, writing over forty seforim. He was deported to Auschwitz together with his community whom he continued to lead until their final moments. Additional inscription of R.
