Additional autograph inscription by R. Avrohom Eiger stating that the sefer belongs to his father R. Akiva Eiger, Rav of Friedland. R. Akiva Eiger-Ginz (1761-1836), was born in Eisenstadt into a Rabbinical family and was well known as a child prodigy. He studied at the Yeshiva of Mattersdorf, and following that in Breslau as a student of his maternal uncle R. Wolf Eiger. In 1791 he was appointed as Rav of Friedland where he remained until 1815, after which he became the Rav of Posen. He was world renowned as an outstanding Talmid Chochom, Posek and foremost leader of European Jewry during the early 19th century. His novella were received to great acclaim and remain classics of Torah scholarship, studied with great reverence. Among his children were his sons, R. Avrohom (1781-1853) and R. Shlomo (1785-1852), who was Rav in Kalisch and succeeded R. Akiva Eiger as Rav of Posen. His daughter Sorel (Eiger) Sofer (1790-1832) was the wife of the Chasam Sofer. R. Avrohom Eiger (1781-1853), was the eldest son of R. Akiva Eiger. A renowned Talmid Chochom, he is mentioned numerous times in Chidushei R. Akiva Eiger. 1, 24 pages. 31 cm. Fine condition.
